Weekly Mani: LeChat Queen Fierce + Opi Liquid Sand

Hello everyone,

Well, after trawling Pinterest and seeing all the cool matte manicures, I wanted to try out my new bottle of Gelish Matte Top It Off  but after swatching some ideas I just wasn’t feeling it so I ended up with this instead. I used Lechat Queen Fierce, a beautiful dark maroon frost, formula is wonderful with just a tiny bit of shrink back. I stamped with SH Slick Slate and an image from Lesly plate #15. I don’t use regular nail polish anymore unless it’s to stamp with but I have been fascinated with the “sand/sugar” textured polishes and OPI’s Stay the Night was a nice match with the Queen Fierce, I applied 2 coats over the gel color. Now I just have to wait and see how this wears.

    GORGEOUS colors! So fall.

I’m really interested in the textured polishes as well. I had hoped the Gelish Trends line would include a texture polish, but alas. Maybe next year 😉

Thanks Ann…I know what you mean, I’m also waiting for holos and more duo-chromes.

Love this mani…how did the OPI’s Stay the Night work over the gel color. Did it chip? Did you wipe the gel’s tacky layer before putting OPI’s Stay the Night on the gel color?

      Hi!

The OPI did much better than I would have thought without a top coat. It did not chip or crack and retained most of it’s color (although some of the color on the glitter wore off to the silver core). I did have some tip wear but it wasn’t that noticeable since the Queen Fierce was an almost exact match in color. And yes, I did remove the sticky layer from the gel polish before applying the OPI. I did 2 coats of gel, 2 coats OPI.
