Hi dear readers,
I was contemplating what to do for this week’s mani and I realized with all the nail art I’ve done over the past couple of years I have never tried doing hand drawn roses. I have been viewing dozens and dozens of videos and tutorials on the easiest way to do it, I experimented with gel, regular nail polish and paint and found I like using acrylic best, especially black to do the fine outline. Here is my first attempt :).
I started with a base color of IBD Whipped Cream, cured and removed sticky layer. For the rose colors I used red and purple acrylic paint and lightened them with some white. I painted the purple first in a slightly irregular shaped circle and then added a little of the pink on top. I let it dry and then with a very fine detail brush I used the black to form the petals, I found that I got the finest lines when I thinned the black with more water. I then painted the leaves in green and outlined with black. I let it dry completely, about 20 min, and applied 2 coats of top coat and done! This was a lot easier than I would have thought and I may try it with watercolors for some different effects. The other nails are stamped with an image from Lesly plate# 14 using an ancient bottle of Maybelline polish called Pink Mystique.
This is my inspiration for the roses, especially because of the outlining, Aoana Nail Art: http://youtu.be/ACav4128PsE
I plan doing a video tutorial so you can see how easy it is! Stay tuned.
