Here is part 2 of the Moyra designs. I used Moyra’s Damask Drapery and Florality 2 plates. I also used Moyra’s Foil Gel in black and Magic Foil in Gold. All products used are linked below as well as the video tutorial.
I started this set with a custom blend color. I used about 2 parts First Gel Cherry Bomb and 1 part LVMAY black gel paints, mixed well and applied 2 coats and cured. I applied a coat of Luxa Matte top coat and cured for 60 seconds in my Gelish 18G LED lamp.
I stamped the entire nail with a damask image from the Damask Drapery plate with Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Commander in Chic lacquer. I then topped with a coat of Luxa matte top gel.
With the Moyra Foil Gel in black I painted an abstract line and circle design and cured for 90 seconds and let cool for about a minute before foiling. I cut off a small piece of foil, held it taut between my fingers and lightly pressed onto the gel. If any foil should get on any areas you don’t want, simple clean away with the ELF brush and a little acetone. To protect the foil, you can apply some no-wipe top gel with a fine brush just to the foiled areas or you can apply a coat of matte top gel over the entire nail. The foil will stand out nicely, but look a little more antiqued. You can also apply a shiny top gel over everything if you don’t like the matte look.
For the next design, I used Moyra’s Florality2 plate. I stamped a leaf image using Sally Hansen InstaDri Slick Slate and then removed sections of the stamp from the top and bottom using the ELF brush and acetone. Topped with a coat of Luxa matte gel.
Using the black foil gel, I outlined the stamp and painted a few scrolls in the center and then cured for 90 seconds and cooled down for 1 minute. I then applied the foil. I wanted a little texture so I painted some of the base color into the top and bottom areas, carefully painting along the foiled outlines. I did not cure yet, I sprinkled some clear acrylic powder from Crystal Nails into the wet gel until it was no longer shiny, tapped off any excess and then cured. I then used the ELF brush to brush off any excess powder from the entire nail. And there is the finished design. To protect the foiled areas, you can apply either matte or shiny top gel.
Here are two samples of what the foil looks like with matte top gel.
And here are some other stamped and foil sample I did.
